A long lasting object of admiration for me is the ideea of a forest.
Given the constant and seemingly unstoppable logging of woods, it seems I might live to see this become a rarity. I've read how a great part of the southern Romanian plains were once covered by Codrii Vlăsiei (the Forests of Wallachia), a great forest that served as shelter to outlaws; it's hard to believe this existed as now only a few patches still remain.
Since the start of this series, my interest has expanded to how woods in other places and countries look like and what man-made objects hide deep inside.
